Catalog description

Theoretical, philosophical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual aspects of professional nursing practice are introduced. Content addressed includes communication theory, group theory, interprofessional, interpersonal and nurse-client relationships, interviewing, counseling theory, transcultural concepts, critical thinking, nursing process, and information technology. Students are introduced to nursing theory, research and evidence based practice. Exploration of legal and ethical issues in nursing practice is introduced. Pre-requisites: Courses required for admission to upper-division major in nursing. Contact Decker Division of Advising and Academic Excellence for further information.
