Catalog description

Description: The field of pre-hospital emergency medical care is a rapidly-evolving profession in which the reality of life and death is confronted at a moment’s notice. EMS has developed from the days when the local funeral home or police department served as the ambulance provider, to the far more sophisticated system today. EMT-Basics work side by side with other health care professionals to deliver professional pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation. This course is designed to help the aspiring EMT-Basic gain the knowledge, skills and affect necessary to be a competent, productive, and valuable member of the emergency medical services team.
