Catalog description

Emergencies occur on a daily basis and can happen to anyone without warning. With natural and man-made disasters increasing in frequency, it is important for individuals to be prepared for the worst. Students will learn how to properly prepare and respond to different types of disasters in order to better sustain themselves and their community while also learning campus safety procedures and resources. Students are expected to come prepared with ideas for the topic assigned that week and actively contribute to the discussion from the assigned readings. For certain topics, instructors will have different University departments come and provide teaching material for that day.
