Catalog description

This is a multi-faceted course that includes the following: (1) The preparation, memorization, staging, rehearsal, and performance of a staged opera or opera scenes; (2) An introduction to movement and dance that will expand the opera performer’s movement vocabulary and will focus on communication through physical action; and (3) A study of stage techniques for singing actors that will include imagination, body language, improvisation, use of props, and the analysis of text and music.
