Catalog description

Preparation and performance of major works for wind band. Players develop individual and ensemble skills in tone, balance, expression, dynamics, phrasing, articulation and technique. The University Wind Ensemble performs concerts both on and off campus during the fall and spring semesters. Membership is open to all members of the University community. May be taken for credit by registering for MUSP 260A (freshmen), MUSP 360A (sophomores and juniors) or MUSP 460A (seniors). Prerequisites: Interested wind, brass and percussion players must take the wind program audition. No pre-registration. Auditions held during first week of classes. Check bulletin board near FA-111 for time and place.
