Catalog description

Form and Analysis: Music of the 20th and 21st Centuries. This course, which assumes a thorough understanding of concepts encountered in the music theory sequence, develops advanced skills used to analyze music created from 1900 to the present day. Particular attention will be paid to music written since 1950; in addition to extensive score study, this course will also include discussions of electronic, non-notated and popular musics. Pre-requisite MUS 317 or permission of instructor. Offered every other fall.
