Catalog description

This course is a continuation of HR500 and focuses on analyzing contemporary issues in human rights, such as modern slavery, human trafficking, socio-economic rights, the rights of children, gender-based violence, torture, immigration, refugee rights, indigenous people’s rights, and environmental rights. In addition, relevant documents, contemporary ethical conundrums and institutional frameworks pertaining to the various aspects of human rights practice will be discussed. Prerequisites: MSHR 500 Human Rights Theory and Practice I. Offered: spring.
