In today's data-driven world, the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging visuals is essential. This course equips students with the skills to craft compelling data stories by combining design principles with technical tools. Balancing theory and practice, the course covers core concepts in data-to-visual mapping, graphical literacy, and narrative structures. Students will work hands-on with real-world datasets using tools like Tableau, Python visualization libraries, and network analysis software. Projects include building interactive dashboards, creating geospatial visualizations, and visualizing dynamic networks. By the end, students will build a portfolio showcasing their ability to uncover patterns, communicate insights, and support data-informed decisions. No prior experience with data visualization is needed. Ideal for students in any discipline who want to communicate data more effectively.
