Catalog description
This course offers a comprehensive overview with hands-on practical applications of Generative AI. It begins by exploring the core concepts of generative AI and how it differs from earlier AI models. Students will then delve into prompt engineering and build advanced chatbots to optimize AI interactions. They will also learn to select, build, and fine-tune pre-trained foundation models. As students deepen their technical skills, they will also examine the broader societal, ethical, and cultural implications of these technologies. Through practical projects, students will explore diverse use cases, including text generation, image creation, and video production. Finally, they will examine emerging trends and future directions of generative AI, preparing them to innovate in this rapidly evolving field. Prior coursework experience with Python is recommended. Offered in the fall semester.
