Properties of pure substances. Concepts of work and heat, fundamental laws of thermodynamics; closed and open systems. Entropy and entropy production. Basic gas and vapor cycles, basic refrigeration cycles. Prerequisites: PHYS 131. Offered in the Fall semester and in the Summer session. 3 credits "There is a $84.10 inclusive access fee associated with this course which provides required course materials at a discounted price. You may choose to opt-out of this fee and will be provided instructions from your instructor on how to do so."
