Catalog description

This course is designed for students with no prior programming experience who are interested in learning the fundamentals of Python programming and its applications in data mining. The course covers core Python concepts including data types, variables, control structures, functions, and file handling. Students will also be introduced to data mining techniques and tools used for understanding, exploring, and preparing data. Topics include exploratory data analysis, data visualization, data preparation, and an introduction to supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms using Python libraries. These techniques form an important foundation for modern machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. Prerequisites: None. Typically offered once per academic year.
