MINDFUL LIVING This course is a fully online asynchronous course that provides a unique balance between cognitive and applied learning for developing skills and behaviors to live a more mindful, active lifestyle. The wellness requirement (S) will be met through student’s completions of weekly wellness projects, lectures and discussions. The physical fitness requirement (Y) will be met by student’s participation in weekly cardiorespiratory exercise, muscular endurance and strengthening activities as well as range of motion, flexibility practice. Students will be exercising for a minimum of 75-150 minutes each week during the 7-week course. Exercise intensity and activity will be dependent on the student’s fitness level and goals. Exercise activity will be monitored through one or more of the following platforms: course instructional videos, video journals, written journals, and/or electronic fitness trackers. Examples of exercise activities appropriate for this course include walking, jogging, simple rhythmic aerobic choreography, various forms of group fitness activities, body weight and light dumbbell strengthening exercise, stretching, yoga, and other forms of conditioning and strength training exercises.
