Wellness Through Yoga

Catalog description
This course teaches the physical and philosophical practice of Yoga. All classes include posture practice, breathing practices, relaxation, meditation, lectures, and discussion. Topics covered in lectures and discussions include physical and emotional wellness, nutrition, lifestyle, Yoga history, and philosophy. Course requirements include all or some of the following: readings, journaling, reflective papers, oral presentations, and graded group discussions. The physical activity level of the class can range from gentle and slow-moving to high-energy flow series of poses depending on the instructor. Yoga mats are required. Textbooks may be required. HWS activity courses have strict attendance policies as physical participation in class is a major part of the course. Course fee applies. Refer to Schedule of Classes.
