Scuba - Advanced Open Water

Catalog description
Scuba - Advanced is based upon the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Advanced Open Water Diver course which introduces the certified diver to new dive environments. This course focuses on the following dive environments: deep, underwater navigation, buoyancy, wreck, multi-level, boat, night and drift. Discussion focuses on diver, environment interactions and stresses real time problem solving. Open Water scuba certification from a nationally recognized agency is a prerequisite for this class. Beyond the classroom and pool activities, students will participate in 5 Open Water dives at Dutch Springs earning their PADI Advanced Open Water Certification. These dives will be conducted across a 2-day weekend as scheduled in the syllabus. Students must provide a medical release form indicating good health, particularly freedom from cardio-respiratory problems. Students are expected to bring a swimsuit to class on the first night. HWS activity courses have strict attendance policies as physical participation in class is a major part of the course. Course fee applies. Refer to the Schedule of Classes.
