Catalog description

This course is grounded in Dr. William Glasser’s Choice Theory Model and is designed to introduce freshman students to the programs and facilities on campus that encourage health living away from home. This hybrid, half semester course will allow students the opportunity to meet other freshman, explore health related offerings available to them and establish a wellness plan for the next four years on campus. The following offices will be introduced: University Health Services and Health Promotion, University Counseling Center, Dining Services, Health and Wellness Studies, Campus Recreation, and Campus Police. The following topics will be covered: Team building exercises, choice theory model, substance abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, self-care, healthy communication, and healthy relationships.
