Catalog description

This dynamic service-learning course will explore how the arts impact the health outcomes and wellbeing of our aging population, especially those living with memory loss in Broome County. Students will begin the semester with discussions about Creative Aging. They will then put this knowledge to work assisting with and facilitating Creative Aging programs at local care communities and cultural centers. Coursework will include discussion, select readings and videos, reflective writing assignments, Creative Aging program development and facilitation, a Creative Celebration honoring the work completed by the participants, and a final reflection.
