Catalog description
This course is a general study of microbiology that will introduce students to the basic biology of archaea, eukaryotic microorganisms, bacteria, and viruses. Emphasis will be placed on the diversity of the microbial world. This course will help prepare students to learn how microbiology impacts individuals and societies (for example, food poisoning, water contamination, infections, and vaccinations). The course will prepare students for advanced study in microbiology and the health sciences.
