This course examines the political, social, economic and ideological impact of the U.S.-spearheaded international War on Drugs (WOD) on Chican@, Latin@, and Latin American women and men in the U.S. and Europe. It also explores the impact of the WOD on Latin American countries such as Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. It emphasizes the ways in which Chican@, Latin@, and Latin American peoples have responded to such policies. Offered: semester offered varies.
