Catalog description
The informal economy is an integral and growing part of cities. Through a rigorous examination of the literature students will learn about the working conditions and everyday life of street vendors, domestic workers, day laborers, and farmer workers. How planners and policymakers address the concerns of informal workers is an important social justice challenge. Students will conduct literature reviews, identify stakeholders, and create policy reports in support of informal workers. Offered: semester varies.
