This course will examine the development of social conditions and problems in the United States. Some of the issues to be examined include: the criminalization of poverty, restrictions of civil liberties and human rights, the deterioration of health, the feminization of poverty, limits of welfare rights, the expansion of homelessness, violence against women, constrain in the rights of immigrants, environmental racism, etc. Offered: Semester varies.
