Binghamton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course will deepen students’ understanding of greater Binghamton while simultaneously providing them with opportunities to enhance their leadership and community development skills. As students learn about the history of greater Binghamton, its challenges, and its visions for the future, they will identify key issues the area faces while planning and implementing team-based service projects to address them. Following the service learning motto of “experience enhances understanding; understanding leads to more effective action,” students will be encouraged to work and learn outside of the classroom and in the city itself. This course is limited to students who live in Hinman College who have not completed HDEV 106. Offered: fall or spring.
