Catalog description

This course explores principles and advanced techniques in cartography and geovisualization. Students learn to create effective, visually compelling maps that communicate complex spatial information through practical application of design fundamentals, color theory, and symbolization. The curriculum covers advanced cartographic concepts including cartograms, computer-aided design, animation, and 3D visualization. Students gain hands-on experience transforming data into clear visual narratives while exploring emerging technologies like augmented and virtual reality. Special emphasis is placed on information visualization principles and human-computer interaction to ensure maps effectively engage their intended audience. Course fee applies.
