Catalog description

This course covers the fundamental concepts and processes that govern variations in atmospheric conditions over time and space. Elements of heat exchange, moisture exchange and dynamics of air movement examined in relation to causes for various climatic patterns on Earth. Impacts of weather and climate on society will be addressed, including forecasting and observations, severe weather, dissemination of meteorological information, and topics addressing societal needs regarding climate and resources.
