Catalog description

This course introduces the study of geography, a social science that considers how place and human society interact. Students will be acquainted with major concepts and tools used by geographers to think critically about the world around them and the relationships between humans and their environment that shape that world. This course surveys the major subfields of geography, drawing from both physical and human geography. Students will learn to use maps and spatial data at local, regional, and global scales to interpret the spatial patterns affecting their lives.
