ENG 300K Human Rights in Law & Lit - This course examines intersections of law and literature. We will consider the narratives embedded in law, the ways in which literature might inform the moral and legal imagination, and how law and literature together shape social norms. Through the dual lens of international human rights and global Anglophone literature, we will look at how key concepts like evidence, witness, testimony, and personhood emerge are shaped by law and literary studies and how those concepts come to bear in representations of atrocity in a wide range of human rights violations.
