Cryptography & Info Security

Catalog description

Introduction to codes and ciphers, information security, and mathematical basis of encryption. Cryptanalysis (code-breaking), modern block and stream ciphers, public-key cryptography, protocols, security engineering and threat management. Lecture portion meets with EECE 405. Extra assignments, and/or final project will be required at the graduate level. Prerequisite: Familiarity with a computer programming language is necessary to complete assignments. Offered every fall semester.
