Catalog description
Fundamentals of electric drive systems with applications emphasis. The course offers an integrative treatment of multiple components that make up electric drives, including electrical machines, power-electronics-based converters, mechanical systems, feedback controller design, and the interaction of the drives with the utility grid. Lecture portion meets with EECE 421. Extra assignments, and/or final project will be required at the graduate level. Prerequisites: EECE 260, EECE 301 and EECE 323. Offered every spring semester.
