Catalog description

Students work in small teams to design, build, and present an assigned engineering design project. The teams use a lightweight version of an industrial project lifecycle. This is part I of a two semester capstone project course for Electrical and Computer Engineering students to put their engineering education thus far into practice. The fall semester focus is on designing and prototyping their designs while managing scope, time and cost of the project. Teams learn basics of team organization, conflict management, technical skills, project management techniques and written and oral reporting. Evaluation based on individual and team performance. Prerequisites: EECE 387 and senior standing. Co-requisite: After being assigned your project, register for your Project Advisor's lab section of EECE 486. Offered every fall semester. 2 credits. There is a $250 fee associated with this course.
