Catalog description

Introduction to codes and ciphers, information security, and mathematical basis of encryption. Cryptanalysis (code-breaking), modern block and stream ciphers, public-key cryptography, protocols, security engineering and threat management. Technical elective. Prerequisite: ISE 261 or MATH 327 and CS 211. Offered every fall semester. 3 credits.
