This course focuses on the political-economic forces that shape educational policy and school reform. We will explore different perspectives on policy development, including systems analysis, political pluralism, and class-domination models. We wil examine how they apply to the accountability movement, the Common Core, teacher evaluation, school choice, and federal programs such as No Child Left Behind and Race to the Top.
