Catalog description
What are students’ attitudes and beliefs regarding the teaching and learning of a particular discipline? How do educators and parents effect students’ opportunities to learn? How do students’ social identities affect their learning? These are examples of questions that are of interest to educational researchers in a range of disciplines. In this course, students will be introduced to various research methods common in educational research studies, as well as the ethics of conducting educational and social research. They will also gain an understanding of the different methodologies common to human subject research in educational environments. NOTE: course is restricted to new freshman. Offered: fall.
