Econ 611: This is the first course in the microeconomics sequence for first-year Ph.D. students. The course presents some classic foundational topics as well as an introduction to more contemporary objects of study. The overall goal of the course is to familiarize students with the rigorous study of economic theory through the use of mathematical models, as applied to the study of individual units of decision making and their interactions under competitive market conditions.
