This course is an introduction to the basic mathematical concepts and techniques in economics. Calculus and linear algebra will be reviewed. Topics include optimization, comparative statics and proofs. The emphasis will be on honing the student's mathematical skills and rigor and the application of mathematics to a number of micro- and macro-economic problems.
