Catalog description
Current macroeconomic theories are used to analyze short, medium, and long run macroeconomic issues. The course uses a modern New Keynesian model as the basis for short and medium run analysis with extensive discussion of monetary and fiscal policy among other issues. Microeconomic foundations for the model are developed. Economic growth is covered from the perspective of both neoclassical and endogenous growth models as well as from various empirical perspectives. Open economy macroeconomic models are also covered.
