This is a hands-on beginner's course on working and learning from data in economics. Students will learn to visualize, summarize and do some preliminary data analysis using R on their laptops, and in the process learn some basic statistical tools and their use in learning from data firsthand. The emphasis is more on understanding the subject matter visually and conceptually, rather than on memorizing and applying formulae. Format: Exams, homework assignments, and pop quizzes.
