Prerequisites - Grades of C or better in ECON 160 and 162. Pollution as an economic phenomenon, theory of externalities, non-market valuation, global oil pricing, air quality, climate change. Appropriate public policies to deal with environmental problems. Strong emphasis on rigorous graphical analysis. Format: Homework exercises, student presentations, midterm examination, comprehensive final examination. Final grade is based on performance throughout the semester and is curved to the median grade.
