Intro to AI and Deep Learning

Catalog description

Deep Learning is everywhere, from ChatGPT writing essays and code, to Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2 generating art from text. This course is an introduction to Deep Learning, including the underlying architectures and algorithms, their usage and limitations, and its societal implications. Topics covered include the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), natural language processing with Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and image analysis with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), along with recent developments. This course makes use of standard libraries in research and industry such as scikit-learn and PyTorch. Prerequisite: HARP 150.
