Catalog description

The course provides an introduction to the principles and practices of network, computer, and information security. Topics include authentication and cryptographic techniques, intrusion detection, access control, security policies, and program/policy analysis techniques. Students complete a project applying AI machine learning methods to a core security domain such as threat detection, automated vulnerability analysis, or AI-assisted policy evaluation. Prerequisites: CS 350 and CS 375 or equivalents. Typically offered once every academic year.
