Catalog description

Fundamentals of programming language translation. Lexical analysis and parsing of context-free languages. Grammars and parsing techniques. Syntax-directed translation. Declarations and symbol management. Semantic checking. Runtime and code generation. Principles, methods and examples of code optimization. Prerequisite: CS 373 and CS 375. Both prerequisites must have a grade of C- or better. Term and frequency of offering varies.
