Catalog description

Describes and helps students-especially freshmen and sophomores-develop the core skills necessary to succeed in the computer science technical job and internship recruiting process. Students learn to craft standout resumes, attract interest from companies, ace interviews, and land internships. Students strengthen their technical interviewing skills by practicing LeetCode-style problems and learning to communicate solutions clearly and effectively during an interview. Lectures and panels driven by alumni and industry professionals. Panels discuss CS career specializations such as quantitative analysis (quant), data science, cyber security, machine learning, big tech, financial technology (fintech), project management, and startups. Meets twice weekly, often with one session focusing on general recruiting knowledge and the other on technical interviewing. Prerequisites: CS101 and CS110 or equivalent. Typically offered in the Spring semester.
