Curating Film and Video

Catalog description
This course discusses ideas about curating a screening program and strategies to conduct a screening event. Each student will be asked to watch online videos outside of class, curate his/her own programs, and give presentations about a curatorial theme and decision-making process. Throughout a semester, students will work as groups to prepare and conduct a film festival, SEFF Binghamton: Student Experimental Film Festival in Binghamton, which will take place at on/off campus venues, providing a unique and eye-opening experience for the campus community and local residents. Pre-requisites: CINE 121, 122 & 252 or consent of instructor. Fall Only.
