Electronic Soundscapes

Catalog description

This sound / composition course integrates field recording techniques with electronic music synthesis. Durational location recordings will be used to inspire musical generated concepts. Systems used will include Eurorack modular synths, Moog synthesizers, and DAWS. This course develops critical listening and electro-acoustic production skills. Selected texts will be used for inspiration and guidance to understand the history of sound art particular to this genre of cinematic sound composition. Prerequisite: CINE 252. Offered in spring.
