Catalog description

A continuation of CHIN 101, this course focuses on expanding students’ knowledge of basic sentence patterns and applying them in a variety of real-life situations. This course is for students who have successfully completed CHIN 101 or have equivalent proficiency. Upon completion, students will be able to converse in Mandarin on topics such as the weather, giving directions, seeing a doctor, renting an apartment, discussing sports, and planning trips. Students will also be able to read and write short stories using a wider range of Chinese characters on these topics. Prerequisite: CHIN 101 or equivalent. Offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
