CHEM 482D/582D ZHONG SPECIAL TOPICS IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY: NANOSCALE CHEMISTRY. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Nanotechnology arises from the convergence of physics, chemistry, biology and materials science to create new functional systems of nanoscale dimensions. This multidisciplinary subject area is not just about small size; it is about new, unexpected or improved physical and chemical properties of materials or devices emerging at the nanoscale dimension. This course serves as an introduction to nanoscale chemistry, focusing on analytical techniques for studying nanoscale structures and properties. Student-centered learning project on nanoscale chemistry and nanotechnology will also be a component of this course. FORMAT: Taught simultaneously as CHEM 482D/CHEM 582D.
