Catalog description
Introduction to organic chemistry through a systematic treatment of the structure, reactivity and stereochemistry of the basic types of hydrocarbons (alkane, alkene, alkyne, arene), alkyl halides, spectroscopy and alcohols, as well as interconversion among these most important classes of organic compounds. For majors and non-majors. FORMAT: Two 85-minute Lectures per week, One 2-hour Discussion per week.
