Catalog description

This is an advanced course for biomedical engineering senior undergraduate students. The course covers topics such as material mechanical and surface properties, material degradation mechanisms, and microparticles and nanoparticles. These topics are discussed with a focus on cardiovascular, orthopedic, ophthalmological and dental. Additionally, the biological response to materials is covered in-depth including inflammation, thrombosis, and immunity. Prerequisite: BME 313. Spring semester.
