Catalog description

Description: It covers advanced topics in biophotonics, including physical optics, tissue optics, and digital image acquisition and formats. Additional topics include modern optical imaging technologies, Raman spectroscopy, super-resolution microscopy, optogenetics, photoacoustic tomography, photodynamic therapy, and live-cell imaging microscopy. The course will also cover fundamentals and methods for digital image processing, featuring applications in biological and medical diagnosis. Students are required to have basic skills in MATLAB programming. In addition, the course will include a discussion of bias and unfairness that unintentionally generated in imaging processing and discuss best practices on how to identify and overcome them.
