Catalog description

This is a laboratory course, geared toward Biology majors and is intended to provide the students with interest in advanced microbiology with a broad background in microbiology laboratory practice and theory. The course will cover major laboratory methods including microscopy, evaluation of microbial metabolism, microbial growth and death, environmental microbiology, water and food microbiology, biofilms, medical and industrial microbiology. The lab meets twice a week for a period of 1 hour lecture and 3 hours Lab per session. Pre or Corequisite: BIOL 314 or BIOL 319. Offered every fall.
