Cellular constituents and their roles in life process. Structure and function of proteins/enzymes, membranes. Metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids. Energetics and regulation of metabolism. Prerequisites: BIOL 113 or BIOL 118, CHEM 107 and 108 (or 111), CHEM 231 and 332. Fall and Spring. 4 credits. NOTE: Students who have taken BIOL 304 or BCHM 304 will NOT receive credit for BIOL 403 or BCHM 403. This course has a wait list. Once you are on the wait list, you cannot change your section or re-enroll in the course, even if seats appear to be available. If you do so, you risk being dropped and losing your place in line.
