Structure and function of cells. Emphasis on research techniques so that contemporary problems in cell and molecular biology can be explored. Special themes addressed throughout the course include regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy, new approaches to treat cancer and other diseases, personalized medicine, and new advances in biomedical devices. Prerequisites: BIOL 113 or 118, CHEM 107 or 108. 4 credits. This course has a wait list.
